Vision and Mission:
Shalom Company is a community center dedicated to working towards greater peace and wholeness. This reforming effort will be evidenced by:
- Helping to provide for basic needs for those lacking food, clothing, shelter, childcare and by supporting other non-profits (Visit our Helping Hands page)
- Supporting the growth of arts and culture by hosting gallery exhibits, concerts, creative workshops (Visit the Creativity Center)
- Stimulating intellectual and spiritual pursuits through seminars (Visit the Olive Tree Study Center), lectures, mentoring, and individual and group learning circles. Topics may include health, wellness, environment, justice and building bridges of peace between Jews and Christians (Visit our Blog)
- Offering a welcoming and accepting environment to all visitors
- Providing facilities available for use/rental by like-minded non-profits, civic groups and individuals
Shalom Company’s “products” are peace and community mindedness. Because Yeshua, the Prince of Peace, is at its center, Shalom Company is a place for sharing and putting others first, as well as for individual growth. But, first and foremost it is a challenge… a challenge to repair the world’s brokenness and to become all that you are meant to be. Shalom Company challenges you to become part of the solution.
Although we are geographically located in north central Connecticut, our mission is not confined to just our region. Our interests are global and include outreach and support to many international efforts.
Shalom Company is not just “the place to be”. It is the place to become.

History:
Shalom Company opened its doors in February, 2009, as a community based project to serve the needs of the local region. Originally funded by Congregation Shuvah Yisrael, a Messianic Jewish congregation (Visit the Shuvah Yisrael site), the Shalom Company was envisioned to be a welcoming hub of community activity for people of all walks of life and faith. On-going support depends on the generosity of supporters like you.
Located in a shopping mall in Bloomfield, CT, Shalom Company is part of the streetscape of a suburban center, with close proximity to restaurants, a movie theater, a bakery and other retail stores and services.
The Shalom Company’s Shalom Café offers free coffee and wifi service to visitors in a comfortable, contemporary environment. Visitors are welcome to “hang out” with friends or on their own for a peaceful, but energizing experience.
Concerts, lecture series, movie nights, plays, art exhibits, Mah Jong games, Open Mic nights, and conferences are just a few of the events typically found at Shalom Company on any given day or night.
With the launch of www.theshalomcompany.org website in January, 2010, we hope to spread shalom beyond our geographic boundaries.
